Job Umbrella is a free suite of tools for running a modern job search — not one app that does a single thing. Why we built it
A serious job search means juggling dozens of applications, deadlines, contacts, and resume versions — usually across a spreadsheet, a browser with 20 tabs, and a folder of near-identical documents. Things slip. Deadlines pass. You lose track of where you applied and what you sent. Job Umbrella replaces that scramble with one connected set of tools — each step feeding the next — so you always know your next move.

- Job fitness check. See what a posting asks for that your resume is missing — and get flagged when a draft oversells you.
- Find jobs. Turn your profile into one-click, prefilled searches across twelve major job boards plus federal and state government sites, with AI recommendations for which boards fit you best.
- One-click capture. A Chrome and Firefox extension pulls a posting straight into your tracker — no copy-paste.
- Pipeline tracking. Move applications through stages you control — from wishlist to offer — on a kanban board and a dashboard that shows how your search is converting.
Free, and flexible
The core tools are free. AI features run on a shared free daily allowance, and you can bring your own free API key (BYOK) to lift the cap — your choice of provider. We keep the AI provider-agnostic so you’re never locked in.
Built for job seekers — and the people who help them
We care especially about people re-entering the workforce and the coaches and case managers who support them. That’s why we’re building tools for advisors to support their clients’ searches — always with the job seeker’s consent and control over their own data. Your search history is yours; sharing it with a coach or case manager is opt-in and revocable.
