Track your job applications
Add applications, move them through stages on the board, and watch your funnel on the dashboard.
Your Board keeps every application in one place and shows you where each one stands. Here is how to add jobs, move them through your Board, and read your progress.
Add an application
- Click + Add Job (or open New application).
- Fill in the company and role — the only required fields.
- Add anything useful: stage, location, posting URL, salary range (optional), applied date, deadline, and the full job description.
- Save. The description you paste here powers the AI resume customizer for that job.
If you found the job online, the browser extension captures all of this for you with one click. A job from Find Jobs lands on your Board with one click as well.
Move applications through your Board
- Open the Board to see your applications as columns you can drag between.
- Drag a card from one stage to the next as the application progresses: Applied, Screening, Interview, and so on.
- On a phone, or with a keyboard, use the ⋯ button on a card instead. It moves the card to any stage, or archives it. Archiving deletes nothing.
- You name your own stages, so the Board matches how you actually search.
Keep the contacts with the application
Open an application and find Contacts near the bottom of the page. Add the recruiter or the hiring manager. Only the name is required. Title, email, phone, LinkedIn and notes are optional. An email or a phone number becomes a link you can click. A number with an extension or letters stays as text. When an application goes quiet, Job Umbrella drafts a follow-up for it. The draft greets your contact by first name, and the task title names them. With no contact, the draft is addressed to the company. You can turn these drafts off on your Profile. Contacts are part of your data export.
See the whole picture
The Board shows your open applications by stage, your totals, and what is due next. Deadlines appear on the job cards themselves, and anything due soon is called out above the Board. The Applications list gives you a searchable, filterable table of everything. You can export it all as CSV at any time.
Stay on top of it
- Log every application as you submit it. Three weeks later you will not remember.
- Set deadlines so nothing slips.
- Review the Board once a week. Look for what stalled and what needs a follow-up.
